Each year, IBM hands out an open brief – a creative challenge to bring the company’s technology to life in a way that cuts through culture. What we crafted for one such proposal was an award-winning glimpse into what happens when tech grows a heart. When AI isn’t built to optimize – but to empathize?
Second Life was a campaign we created – turning Watson’s powerful data-matching into something deeply human. We used it to pair seniors with new roles, hobbies, or passions based not on what they used to do, but who they are now.
No fanfare. No jargon. Just real faces, and moments. We let the participants tell the story. You don’t need CGI when someone says, “I feel useful again.”
In a country where retirement often means fading away, we used tech to reignite identity.
At its core, this was data with soul. Code used to connect, not just compute.
IBM became more than an innovation brand – it became a life-changing one.
